“ | The unseen is the deadliest foe. The assassin uses their various stealth spells to swiftly and seamlessly vanquish their opponents. From the shadows they are able to strike multiple times before their enemy knows what hit them. In a duel with an Assassin, one should watch their back…. And their front. | „ |

The Assassin is one of the five playable classes in Wynncraft and uses Daggers as its weapon. It has spells almost exclusive to damage and the unique ability to become invisible in order to escape or attack its enemies easily. The Assassin has a base defense of 100%, which makes it the second most durable class, before the Warrior. The Assassin excels in damage, crowd control, and personal escape, but has a severe lack of range and no health/damage resistance buffs.

Overview[]
The Assassin's first spell, Spin Attack, is an ability that deals moderate damage to all enemies in a small range which rotates around the player. When Upgraded, Spin attack will hit twice, and can be upgraded to blind enemies, transfer debuffs from the player to enemies, add a debuff that increases the damage mobs take, or strike more times and grant extra mobility. Spin Attack is replaced with the following abilities if they are unlocked on the Ability Tree:
- Lacerate: The player will lunge forward, dealing 3 strikes before lunging upward.
The Assassin's second spell, Dash, is both a escape tool and a form of mobility. The Assassin launches in the direction the player is facing. Dash also gains a variety of upgrades depending on the archetype, including the ability to turn invisible for a brief period, giving the player movement speed and a damage bonus while invisible, the ability to summon clones of the player, the ability to damage to all enemies that the player dashes through, or the ability to throw shurikens after a dash.
The Assassin's third spell is Multihit, which deals 8 rapid strikes to all enemies in a short area in front of the Assassin as well as trapping them for a short time while they are being hit. At later levels, this can be upgraded to become a single strike that gains bonus damage when hitting from behind an enemy, or gain extra range and damage, more strikes, or a finisher at the end of the spell that deals more damage and knockback. Multihit is replaced with the following abilities if they are unlocked on the Ability Tree:
- Backstab: A single devastating hit will be dealt, dealing double damage if the enemy is hit from behind.
Finally, the Assassin's fourth spell is Smoke Bomb, a spell that launches a projectile that creates a damaging area where it lands. It is the Assassin's only decent-ranged ability, and can be upgraded to stick to enemies, add debuffs to the enemy that increase damage taken, slow enemies within the smoke bomb, grant a damage bonus to the player and lure all nearby mobs to them, gain extra throw range and radius, or to gain the ability to throw three smoke bombs at once.
Base Resistance[]
All classes in Wynncraft have a different base resistance value that affects how much damage they take. The Assassin, having a base resistance of 100%, means it will take neither more or less damage from attacks.
The Assassin has the second-highest class base resistance in the game as it is a close-ranged class but is also able to rely on Vanish to provide a way to escape damage.

Main Attack[]
The Assassin's main attack is relatively simple, hitting all enemies within a small area in front of the player. Like other classes' main attacks, it can hit multiple mobs at a time. The Assassin's attack also deals a fair amount of knockback inversely scaling with the dagger's attack speed. Slower weapons will send mobs further back, while faster weapons won't move the mob as much. Assassin's main attack can be upgraded to have more range or strike twice, with reduced damage per hit.
Ability Tree[]
The Ability Tree for the Assassin features three archetypes: the Shadestepper, the Trickster, and the Acrobat.
The Shadestepper archetype sets up and then unleashes deadly, powerful strikes on enemies. It can Vanish and become invisible for a few seconds, allowing it to set up Backstabs that deal devastating damage. It can also spread this high damage to groups of enemies using Violent Vortex. By setting up all of its damage boosts, you can deal a lot of damage at once.

The Trickster archetype can also Vanish and become invisible for a few seconds, however, it reappears with Clones that surround the player, protecting them from damage. These Clones can mimic your attacks and spells, dealing high damage to mobs struck by you and all your Clones at once. The Trickster can also Lure enemies towards it using its Delirious Gas ability, allowing you to make full use of your close-range spells.

The Acrobat archetype soars through the skies with a combination of its Lacerate, Dash, and Hop abilities, all of which allow the player to perform various jumps and lunges in the flow of combat. With its Weightless ability, it gains Mana for every hit it lands while in the air, allowing you to sustain your airborne combat while remaining untouchable in the air.
